Human Excellence is the St Aloysius’ College Strategic Plan for 2021-2025. In this plan, we commit ourselves to a deepening of our mission over the coming half decade as we seek to continue to form young men for others.

One of the priorities within Human Excellence is the renewal of our physical site to make it mission-fit for a 21st Century Jesuit school. Our Master Plan, Plan Magis, has a very deliberate focus upon our classrooms – the learning environments of tomorrow. We seek to ensure that these spaces are conducive to the academic needs of our current and future students.

The classrooms in the Senior School are in obvious need of renewal. We are seeking learning spaces that are more adaptive, capable of supporting collaborative learning and in which shared practice is prioritised. These are essential for future excellence.

​

We were delighted to complete Phase 1 of Plan Magis on our Wyalla Campus in 2020 and in doing so have provided our Senior students an academic environment that aligns to their pathways to university study. In 2021, we completed Phase 2.1 on the Upper Pitt Street Campus. These works included the new Andrea Pozzo SJ Centre for Visual Arts.

Phases 2.2 and 2.3 of Plan Magis will commence in December 2022 and be completed by the end of 2024. These are the most ambitious works in two generations at St Aloysius’ and involve the construction of a brand-new building across the existing Quadrangle. The designs in this booklet provide a visual representation of our new academic facilities.

This new building will be filled with new classrooms, a new student commons and a new Senior School Kircher Library. The boys’ play area will be raised to a new rooftop terrace overlooking the most beautiful natural harbour in the world.
